OK, some worthless trivia. Word has it that Elle was living in Billy Joel’s NYC apartment at the time Joel wrote the song, “Uptown Girl”. By the time the song was recorded and released, Joel had started seeing his future bride, Christie Brinkley, who appears in the official video. So who was the song really about? In an interview years later, Elle claimed the song was not about any girl in particular, and that the 5’5” Joel liked tall women. (Christie is 5’9” and Elle stands at 6 feet.)
