Unless the lady is a fundamentalist Moslem, she can probably show anything she wants. And I wonder if feet are *excluded?* I recently saw one at the grocery store with *full* hijab & burqa, including a full face veil, yet she was wearing open-toed sandals (it resembled one of @Mr Hate's old 'toe-peek' uploads from back in the day!) (:^p) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hijab https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burqa In most states, if *I* go out in a car or grocery store wearing anything covering my face, it's illegal, and even hoodies or *hats* are now forbidden in banks. 2020-03-21 16:28:49 Old comment, but I had to reply. It's actually only displaying soles to another person that's supposed to be rude, but mos tpeole don't really care. I've never actually heard of simply having your feet on display (including soles) being illegal in any Muslim country. I lived in Dubai for over 10 years and a lot of Arab Muslim women wore open shoes, even walked barefoot in places like parks, beaches, etc., many with soles on full display. Belly dancing and other traditional Arab dances are also often performed barefoot. The Lebanese and Egyptian women in particular tended to favor more open footwear from my experience, but many of the locals did as well.
And that's not counting all the non-Arab (Filipino, Indian, etc.) women who make up most of the population in the country. They usually wear open-toed shoes or flip-flops. And Westerners living there are typically in flip-flops or sandals outside of work. |
