Here it is fans. The first foot fetish scene in a major Hollywood production, The Merry Widow (1925). Go to 8:40, there we see a very rich old perv focus in on Mae's feet. Unfortunately, she's wearing shoes. It was after all 1925.

Mae Murray was a Ziegfeld girl and a movie star of the silent era. In his 1925 masterpiece, The Merry Widow, director Erich von Stroheim added a twist to the story. As in the traditional, Mae as the merry widow (before she's ever married) becomes the object of affection of a very wealthy old man. The twist von Stroheim added was to make the old man a foot fetishist. The way that's conveyed in the silent film is very provocative. Way way ahead of its time. MGM wunderkind, Irving Thalberg, who exercised authority over the project on seeing the rushes with the old man lusting after Mae's feet asked von Stroheim what that was all about. When he was told it was a foot fetish, he just laughed and allowed it to be left in the movie.

A footnote: Thalberg reportedly had his own kink to indulge, crossdressing. He and his wife, Norma Shearer would enjoy private dinners, each in the formal attire of the other's sex. That may explain why Thalberg dismissed Von Stroheim's foot fetish. It must have seemed somewhat mild and innocent in comparison.

That is a very interesting side story @dcexquire, much appreciated and really adds some zest to the wall!! I would also wager that Thalberg himself was probably an admirer of womens feet.
