Loving natural nails more than painted nails is truer to what her feet actually look like. Painted nails are a nice accessory that go great with certain shoes and outfits, but then should be removed and not worn all the time. If you want to call it an 'ideology' to love a woman's natural beautiful state, feet or otherwise, so be it. I'll take that any day over worshiping fakeness.

I’m not a hippie, “natural” is not a magic word for me. It’s always disappointing when an otherwise beautiful woman neglects her feet. Painted toenails are the first thing I look for. Unpainted toes turn me off faster than bunions.

It doesn't make a woman a 'hippie' to have natural toenails nor is the word 'natural' magic at all. A woman not painting her toenails is most certainly not 'neglecting' her feet. Nails can be nicely pedicured and feet soft and moisturized looking very sexy without painted toenails. None of these things that makes good foot care is specifically linked to wearing nail polish, that's just your narrowminded opinion. Nail polish is basically makeup for the nails which covers them so you can't even see them. I actually like seeing what the nails look like and natural beauty. To suggest a woman has dirty 'hippie' or neglected feet simply because she doesn't have nail polish on her toenails is absolutely ludicrous.

I went to college, a big school, early 70s. My college women had no nail polish, unshaved hairy toes and legs, wearing earth shoes, sneaks or dirty thick strapped sandals. This is why I got good grades as the distraction level was much lower than it could have been. First girl I dated was an immigrant from Italy who didn't follow the natural trend of the day. Might not have broken up with a 2 year girlfriend my last year if she had polished her toes at least on occasion although thankfully she used a razor. The era was visually DISMAL. Getting a package from old Elmer Batters once a month (expensive!) was the thing that kept me sane.

Sounds like a terrible time, glad I wasn't around then! But we aren't talking about the 70s anymore, today a girl with unpainted nails doesn't mean she doesn't shave her parts properly or keep herself clean. People need to get off this idea that if a girl doesn't paint her nails she's dirty. You could say the same thing about a man who has long hair or stubble on his face and call him dirty even though that isn't true either.
