Idk if you used that Attach button when you commented (it asks for a pic ID#), but I find it's easier to go to the pic you want to comment on, click the symbol in the lower right hand corner and choose "Comment on this picture". Zero chance of entering pic ID # wrong doing it this way.

@someone you dont know, what @just1peek said. Your only way to correct this is to abandon this thread and start over again, following his instructions. The symbol is two white verticle dots on a gray background. It's easy to miss, especially if the photo was B/W. There's also no hover-text to let you know there is something useful if you click it.
