2023-04-26 19:17:44 Sad news from the music scene: the Solothurn alphorn player Eliana Burki died at the age of 39. According to a statement from her label, Künstlerhafen, she succumbed to the consequences of a malignant brain tumor last Monday. She is survived by her partner, the US writer Blas Ulibarri (49), and their children Nala-Emily (4) and Frances-Lee (1).
"She was the epitome of friendliness and cordiality, an extremely positive person who constantly radiated joy and kindness, which was a source of motivation for everyone," Dirk Mahlstedt of the Berlin agency Künstlerhafen is quoted in the statement. "That's why she will leave a big gap with her international audience, her fellow artists and, above all, with her fellow human beings." In 2019, she gave birth to her daughter, Nala-Emily. "I'm so happy to be a mom," she said to Blick at the time. "It's overwhelming. Suddenly you have your own child in your arms and there is just this infinite love that can't be compared to anything else." In May 2022, she announced the birth of her son, Frances-Lee. According to "Schweizer Illustrierte", he turned one year old the day after his mother's death. |
