4 ratings are very positive ratings. All 5s have become meaningless here because of overuse. Even a 3 rating is somewhat positive, something not turned down.

Most of the time 1 ratings have been protest votes against what the rater thought was too high a score. Very few really deserve a 1, but every woman's gallery has some.

Tbh I don't have a problem with the Bell curve being jammed against 5. In elite schools, As are average, as they don't want to normalize to C or even B, as that looks bad. There is some sense to it, as if yokels took classes, the average would probably be D- with real students still jammed in the As. If most feet are hot, an A average isn't wrong.

My problem is that some are hotter than others and they get equalized up top, that's all... So I assign some "hot" as low as 3 stars

Is that actually a value? Is the goal some normalized curve for god knows why? Or is it to encourage more open shoes? More lounge looking past my feet pictures? I see much value in that, and zero value in a bell curve normalized about 3. If 4 stars makes someone hide her feet, this whole site is a detriment, not a boon. Encourage, don't tear at women.
