It's also intentional. Photographers and cameramen are typically taught to have a certain "taboo" against showing feet in frame,at least in the U. S. But, yes, it is frustrating!

@Hugh- I wanted to be a pro photographer in the 70s and was a very serious amateur, having taken many classes and read many books on the subject, and I've never *heard* that, but have certainly *observed* it in both still photography, and even more in TV & movie videography. But I always figured it was just a matter of personal taste from dudes who are boob-fixated and care not a whit about feet.
